OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry Safety and Health

Program Description

The 10-hour Construction Safety and Health Program is intended to provide workers with some safety responsibility a greater depth and variety of training on an expanded list of topics associated with workplace hazards in general industry.


The Program provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in their workplaces. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint.

The training covers a variety of general industry safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter. Training should emphasize hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, not OSHA standards.

Instructional time must be a minimum of 10 hours.
